Philip, South Dakota.July 26th, 2011..The lounge for the staff working at the Delta-1 Launch Control Facility, which was part of the 66th Missile Squadron, is now part of a National Park Service exhibit. The Minuteman nuclear missile base controlled several launching pads spread out across the South Dakota plains, which had active missiles pointed at the Soviet Union from 1961 until 1991.
